Our staff, artists and audiences
CFT strives to bring people - artists and those who support artistic work - together in an environment where creativity can flourish. Alongside our tradition of producing great plays with great actors, CFT seeks out innovative and exciting voices in order to explore newer forms of theatre, alongside our traditional repertoire.
We are committed to supporting individuals in developing their creative, artistic, personal and social skills alongside a life-long enjoyment and appreciation of the arts. Our ambition is to promote inclusivity, accessibility and diversity, and to ensure rich opportunities for all people, regardless of age, culture and social background, to feel inspired, challenged and excited by the arts.
We believe diversity is about celebrating and valuing individuals. The Theatre has an equality of opportunity approach and aspires to give everyone the chance to achieve their potential. CFT ensures a range of policies and procedures are in place which promote safeguarding and safer practice across our organisation.

Environment and sustainability
CFT is actively working to reduce our impact on the environment.
We were delighted to be awarded a 4* rating through Julie’s Bicycle Creative Green Certification programme in January 2020, and were also nominated for the Best Newcomer and Highest Achievement for Improvement at the 2020 Creative Green Awards.
Our staff ‘Green Committee’ focuses on developing new initiatives to continue to improve CFT’s sustainability and introduce changes across the organisation that reduce our carbon footprint, involving the whole company in moving to a green-thinking culture.
Further details about what we have done, what we are doing and our future plans, will be shared in late spring 2021.
