Shakespeare was that fascinating thing – a lot of his life was in London but he was rooted in the Warwickshire countryside and that was so dear to him. In lots of his plays people run off into the woods to discover themselves, find freedom, mess up. He had metropolitan sophistication and the love of the countryside and rural life. We’ve tried to make a world that was true to that.
