News Story
The Great Big Green Week 2025 is taking place from 7 to 15 June, and will bring a million people together to be part of a wave of actions for friends and family, climate and nature. Promoting a sustainable future is one of our core values, so this is always a key date in our diary; here's how you can get involved this year.
This Tree Belongs To Me
We are excited to welcome back award-winning children’s theatre Storycraft with their show, This Tree Belongs To Me. Packed full of enchanting puppetry, colourful characters, games, music and lots of interactive fun, it explores the value of inclusivity and the importance of nature in our surroundings.
Perfect for families with children aged 2 - 8, this show will be performed outside in Oaklands Park next to the Theatre. So dress for the weather, bring a picnic blanket and join us for this one-day only event. You can find out more and buy tickets on the show page.

The CFT Book Nook
The theme of this year's Great Big Green Week is 'Let’s swap together for good'. In that spirit, we’re setting up a Book Nook in our foyer. Come along and take home a second-hand book — no need to bring one in return (though you're welcome to leave or swap a book if you like!). It’s all about sharing stories and giving books a second life.
Find our Book Nook in the foyer, under the stairs between doors 3 and 5, from 6 to 16 June.
Explore our wildlife
In place of traditional opening night cards and gifts, we've been supporting local rewilding projects. We've planted 28 trees in Oaklands Park; take a walk around the park to try and find them next time you visit. In 2022 as part of our 60th Anniversary celebrations, we planted a wildflower meadow that is being cultivated to ensure the flowers return year on year. This year, we're installing a bird box to commemorate every show in Festival 2025.

How we're responding to the climate crisis
We're committed to reaching carbon net zero and we want to inspire everyone we meet to do their bit, too. Read about what we're doing and how you can help.
