We offer a variety of activities that enable people to engage with our work and building in different ways. Our vibrant theatre work depends on the continued support of valued volunteers, and offers opportunities to gain skills, meet new people and develop confidence.
Each volunteering programme is different, depending on the time of year and department chosen. Some opportunities mix administrative and practical tasks, whilst others are focused on audience experience and productions.
Volunteering programmes we currently run are:
- CFT Buddies are a team of trained volunteers who offer a free companion service for audience members. We recruit for this scheme on an ad-hoc basis.
- Heritage and Archive Volunteers meet weekly to assist with the upkeep of CFT’s archive, including production photographs, videos, press cuttings, posters and programmes.
- Prologue Ambassadors are a group of volunteers aged 16 - 30 who work with us to develop our Prologue membership and promote our events. We recruit for this scheme annually in August/September.
- Audio Describers portray in detail what happens on the stage for blind or visually impaired people so they can enjoy our live performances. We are not currently seeking additional volunteers to join this team.
