News Story

We always love hearing what our ambassadors have to say about a show, as they’re some pretty dedicated theatre lovers! Magic runs in the Festival Theatre until this Saturday 16 May. Read on to discover what they thought of this tense, intriguing production.

Our brilliant community of ambassadors are local volunteers who champion CFT and our productions with their networks, colleagues and peers, and meet regularly to chat all things theatre.

Phil is a LinkedIn whiz, and shared what he thought of the show in a post (see his full review on LinkedIn here).

It was an excellent performance from both David Haig and Hadley Fraser, as well as the rest of the cast. There were laugh-out-loud moments alongside some very dark scenes that kept you on the edge of your seat.

Chloe also shared her thoughts with her LinkedIn followers...

It’s a powerful reminder that while we all crave the certainty of facts, there is immense human value in allowing ourselves to believe in hope, in mystery, and in the things that defy easy explanation.

Chloe, Architect

It's great to chat to teachers about the show, as they can speak from different perspectives. They love visiting the theatre in their spare time, but also often teach drama and English, and feedback on what their students thought, too!

I thought the staging was particularly good, especially the video. A superb performance from David Haig and I thought the use of the ensemble was particularly effective.

Lucy, Teacher

Another incredible show. David Haig was fantastic! I love the 1920's style vintage theatre seats, which adds an immersive feature to the show.

Carly, Teacher

Last but not least, here's why Claire, who works in publishing, enjoyed Magic:

The storyline was entirely new to me, which heightened the sense of excitement and discovery, and, true to CFT’s reputation, the technical elements of the production created an immersive atmosphere, where the superb actors captivated the audience’s attention.

Claire, Marketing Manager

That's all from Theatre Club for now, but check back to find out what our ambassadors make of Atonement, which premieres in the Festival Theatre on 29 May.
