News Story
Our Workplace and Prologue Ambassadors are brilliant volunteers who promote CFT across the community. We meet regularly to chat. It's a bit like a book club, but for theatre! Here's what they thought of Atonement, in the Festival Theatre until 20 June.
Speaking of book clubs, Claire brought hers along to see the show, and they were all impressed:
We had all read the book way back when and we're fans of the film. All of us (and we are fairly hard to please) thought it was a quality production. The acting was just wonderful. It’s a great story albeit terribly sad. The staging is very clever, the scene changes seamless, and the whole thing pulls you in quietly before hitting you right in the feelings!

The production is full of surprises - one moment you're aghast, the next you're gripping your seat. It's a first-class piece of theatre, and if you have the chance to see it, go. A truly mesmerising experience that had us talking for days.

Laura also shared her thoughts in a LinkedIn post, check it out here.
Genuinely one of the most impressive productions I’ve seen in a while. I’d really recommend it. The acting is excellent throughout. The emotions are so believable, and it pulls you straight into the story without ever feeling forced or theatrical for the sake of it. A thoughtful, moving piece of work.

We were intrigued to hear from the teachers in the group about this literary adaptation...
I didn’t know anything about the story before I went in and loved it. I thought the staging was really clever and I loved the second tier that was used throughout.
Sarah, Teacher
I loved Atonement, the cast, set and soundtrack were superb as always – the green dress was a showstopper – I think I actually heard people gasp!
Vicki, Teacher

WOW - Atonement! So much passion, emotion and tension throughout. I was gripped from the opening scene. And the green dress, I want it! What a brilliantly clever adaptation, a pleasure to see a world premiere at Chichester.
