News Story

Last week we headed into rehearsals for the final Festival Theatre production of Festival 2025 (where has the time gone?).

Written by William Golding in 1954, Lord of the Flies tells the story of a group of boys stranded on an island, forced to create their own society, and 70 years later it still feels startingly relevant.

A group of performers in casual clothes are moving around a rehearsal room. Some are clapping happily and others have their hands raised above their heads.

And whilst the story deals with conflict, chaos and chilling consequences, you’ll be pleased to hear that the rehearsal room has been a much brighter place to be!

A large group of performers are gathered reading from a piece of paper being held up by the boy on the left. They have focussed expressions.

Take a look at the company in action and remember to grab your tickets as Lord of the Flies is only on for three weeks from 19 September

A group of boys are sat in a row singing intensely. They are all facing the musical director (Chris Poon) who is knelt in front of them conducting.
