Job Description

Chichester Festival Theatre has an exciting opportunity to trial a new volunteer programme designed to enhance the audience experience. Welcome Volunteers will provide a friendly and reassuring presence as audiences arrive at the theatre, helping to create a warm, inclusive environment.

Welcome Volunteers will act as a point of contact for people attending performances and helping anyone who requires assistance to get to their seat. They may provide practical support in busy areas, such as crossing the foyer, using stairs or assisting someone who is using a wheelchair, as well as helping to store wheelchairs and walkers safely.

The role also includes supporting the Front of House team during relaxed and dementia-friendly performances and assisting audience members who use the hearing enhancement system or audio description services.

For an informal conversation about the role, please email volunteer@cft.org.uk  to arrange a suitable time for a call.
