2008: National and International Tours

Artistic Director Jonathan Church had a reputation for saving theatres in difficulty, having turned around the fortunes of Salisbury Playhouse and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Chichester was no different: in the Noughties many productions began to tour nationally and internationally, appearing in the West End and on Broadway, many simultaneously. Between 2006-2011 some standout productions on tour or transfer included Entertaining Angels (2006), Calendar Girls (2008), ENRON (2009), Singin' in the Rain (2011, still on tour in 2022), Yes, Prime Minister (2010) and Sweeney Todd (2011). Explore the productions below.

It makes me proud when I go to London and see shows that started here that have transferred to the West End and to know that that quality of work began here.
