2004: Out of this World

Continuing the goal to reconnect with the ensemble principle of the Olivier years, amidst problematic theatre finances, the 2004 season featured a repertory company of actors in a season themed 'Out of this World'. Productions included inventive adaptations of Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita and Kipling's Just So Stories, and Cole Porter's Out of this World. Reviews and audiences for the season were mixed, but it produced some memorable moments including Noma Dumezweni as a exuberant Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, with fairies hanging from the roof on hoops.
