News Story

Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? Wellbeing is incredibly important to us here at CFT, and we wanted to share a few of our May events, with insights from our Creative Therapist Shari on how they’ll benefit your mental health.

This year's theme is "Moving more for our mental health,” if you want to get involved, here are a few ways how:

Show off your moves at one of our House Party Silent Discosthis weekend. Don your headphones and choose your channel – whether it’s pop or hip hop – and party 'til midnight.

OurGet Dancing! sessions run termly and are a great way to get moving, working with Dancer and Choreographer KJ Mortimer, participants will gently explore a range of dance styles inspired by the onstage work at CFT. Or for youngsters we run CFYTYouth Dance after school on a Thursday.

But it can be as simple as taking yourself for a walk and getting outside (especially whilst we have the sun making an appearance!).

Instead of sitting and waiting for your kettle to boil, why not stroll around the garden or pop your favourite song on and have a quick jump around? If you’re heading to CFT then why not get here a little earlier and have a quick walk around Oaklands Park right on our doorstep or walk down to the Theatre if you live close enough.
