Rise Up is a digital project that celebrates young people, the arts and environmentalism.
Join our online premiere of the short film Rise Up, which showcases creative artworks by talented young people inspired by their thoughts on protecting our planet. There will also be a Q&A session with a panel of individuals working in different ways to help preserve our planet: Fehinti Balogun, Yvonne Thomson and Nicky Wingfield.
Fehinti Balogun is a British Nigerian actor, theatre maker and activist. He became involved in environmentalism when he learnt what it meant for himself and his family. Fehinti has extensive knowledge about the climate crisis and is involved with Extinction Rebellion whilst working within the arts.
Yvonne Thomson founded UKHarvest, a not-for-profit perishable food rescue operation and education charity that provide much-needed assistance to vulnerable people, by collecting surplus food from provides and delivering it to charities. She has extensive experience within urban regeneration, community investment, community development, social enterprise and the arts.
Nicky Wingfield works within the production department at Chichester Festival Theatre and is currently producing our new adaptation of Pinocchio for Christmas. Nicky and the team are exploring ways of making Pinocchio a more eco-friendly production.
