Let me meet you a tree.
What can you see?
Beneath the blue sky
as the summer floats by.
You and your baby can join us on a multisensory journey through a year in the life of a tree: singing with blackbirds, marching through fallen leaves, smelling new blossom and feeling the wind on your cheeks.
Meet me a Tree is an interactive first opera for 0-2 year olds and their carers with music by Schumann, Delibes and Handel as well as original words and music by Catherine Carter. We're delighted to welcome back HurlyBurly, who return following their incredibly popular visits in 2018 and 2019.
With beautiful singing and relaxing music at its core Meet me a Tree will be an opportunity to unwind and have fun for new parents, carers and babies.
It isn’t often I want to write both “charming” and “brave” in the same sentence about the same show but both are applicable here. Three talented, unflappable performers deliver a 40-minute opera to tiny children and their grown ups.Susan Elkin, Sardines Magazine
It’s a real treat to see such small children so engaged in live theatre. For the entire forty minutes they listened, responded, touched and made eye contact with the singers. The only crying occurred at the end when one little boy burst into tears of disappointment that it was over. You probably couldn’t hope for a better accolade.
This show is absolutely brilliant and such a profound formative experience for a baby or toddler! In telling a universal truth about our tree, you create the most magical, nurturing atmosphere where small souls get to share with their parents, grandparents, carers, the most exquisite musical message – exquisitely performed. It was like a dream, and you all made it look and sound so effortless. No one wanted to leave at the end!Adam Barker, West Sussex Music
Wow! Just wow! That was simply wonderful! I was amazed how you engaged our little one, who wasn’t sure at the start but quickly wanted to be on stage. She LOVED it!Audience comments
What a special performance! Thank you so much. My 13m old was absolutely captivated. As was I. It’s by far the best baby-orientated activity I have done!
