Julian Arp and Caspar Frantz are both distinguished soloists in their own right. They met in 1996 and found such joy in performing music together that they formed their cello and piano duo. The duo has won many prestigious awards including first prize at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition in 2006.

Julian Arp and Caspar Frantz are in demand as guest artists at chamber music festivals and concerts throughout the world. Together with publisher Johannes CS Frank, they are joint Artistic Directors of the Zeitkunst Festival for Contemporary Literature and Music in Berlin.
