A highlight for children... giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy clubGuardian
Due to popular demand, Comedy Club 4 Kids! returns to Chichester.
Like the name says, it’s a comedy club, right, but for kids. Also any adults who enjoy a swear-free hour with the circuit’s best stand-ups and sketch acts. Non-patronising. Pure awesome.
Since 2005, Comedy Club 4 Kids! has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts to do their thing for an audience of children and their families. A decade later, the company has expanded from one London residency to being countrywide, running shows and workshops all over the UK from Peebles to Portsmouth, even producing a book on how to write and perform stand-up.
The show is family-friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like 'why is that your face!?'
Line-up for Comedy Club 4 Kids!
Ready to tickle your ribs on 28 July at 2pm at the Minerva Theatre are:
Abigoliah Schamaun: formerly from New York but now living in London, Abigoliah is a disarmingly honest comedian with a tender heart and a wicked sense of humour.
'Her cheeky honesty is completely disarming and delightful'
Joe Wells: by night, Joe is a fiercely political comedian, but by day, for family audiences, he turns his acute intelligence to still more contentious topics, such as the right words to use for "nose goblins".
'Highly original, inspired and suitably different from the rest of the crowd… brilliantly crafted jokes'
Ben Target: Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee. Winner, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.
‘Staggeringly inventive and sometimes unnerving, this highly physical performer is a true original and a legend in the making’
The Play Cafe in the Minerva Bar & Grill
