For Families

We pride ourselves on being a family friendly venue - both on stage and off - and we’re always delighted to welcome our youngest visitors and their grown-ups to the Theatre, whether to watch a show, take part in a workshop, or simply to have a cuppa while using our free Wi-Fi.

We hope that you'll find everything you need to know on this page, but if you have any queries before your visit, please do contact our Box Office on 01243 781312 or email

We are a proud member of the Family Arts Standards, the Age Standards and we are also a Dementia Friendly Theatre - making us a great place to visit with the whole family.

Café on the Park

Our sparkling new Café on the Park welcomes families. Ideally positioned on the edge of Oaklands Park, it is open Monday to Friday from 10am (9am on Saturdays), and serves fantastic coffee, cakes and snacks with babyccinos, healthy snacks and drinks for little ones available.

If you're looking for somewhere new to take your pre-schoolers or catch up with some parent pals, join us for Pop-Up Family Fun on Thursdays during term time from 10am - 12noon in our family spaces in the Festival Theatre’s foyer (to the left of the main entrance).

At other times, you are welcome to come and try out our new family friendly spaces - there's plenty of toys, colouring-in, fancy dress, chalkboards and books! Perfect for pre-schoolers, you're welcome to help yourself to the family fun available (in the boxes under the stairs) anytime - we ask you just pop everything back when you're finished.

Free Wi-Fi and outdoor seating are available and we have baby changing facilities in male, female and accessible toilets, with lots of space for buggies!

Christmas Family Dining

We'd love to welcome you and your family to one of our restaurants before one of our Christmas shows. Check out the dining options on our Food and Drink pages.

The Theatre is right next to Northgate Car Park, an 836-space pay and display car park. Alternatively, we're a pleasant 20 minute walk from Chichester Train station, and the number 60 Stagecoach bus stops nearby.

CFT is linked to the city’s cycle lane network and our new bike park accommodates 26 bicycles, located adjacent to the Pimlott Building, just off the Theatre’s access road, off Broyle Road.
