For Families

We pride ourselves on being a family friendly venue - both on stage and off - and we’re always delighted to welcome our youngest visitors and their grown-ups to the Theatre, whether to watch a show, take part in a workshop, or simply to have a cuppa while using our free Wi-Fi.

We hope that you'll find everything you need to know on this page, but if you have any queries before your visit, please do contact our Box Office on 01243 781312 or email

We are a proud member of the Family Arts Standards, the Age Standards and we are also a Dementia Friendly Theatre - making us a great place to visit with the whole family.

Family Friendly events

We will be celebrating all things Rodgers & Hammerstein at Some Enchanted Evening and running free Saturday Storytime sessions in August.

If you're looking for somewhere new to take your pre-schoolers or catch up with some parent pals, join us for Pop-Up Family Fun on Thursdays during term time from 10am - 12noon (from 2 September) in our pop-up family spaces in the Festival Theatre’s foyer (to the left of the main entrance).

Visit our Family What's On pages for more.

Classes and Workshops

Families can come together to explore and engage with CFT through a variety of Family Friendly workshops, events and activities, Little Notes (music classes for newborns to 4 years old) and holiday activities.

Take a look at our Family Friendly Events page for a full list.

Café on the Park

Our light and airy Café on the Park, positioned on the edge of Oaklands Park, is open Monday to Friday from 10am (9am on Saturdays), and serves fantastic coffee, cakes and snacks. Free Wi-Fi and outdoor seating are available. We have baby changing facilities in male, female and accessible toilets, colouring in and lots of space for buggies!

We'd love to welcome you and your family to one of our restaurants before a show. Check out the dining options on our Food and Drink pages.

Getting here

The Theatre is right next to Northgate Car Park, an 836-space pay and display car park. Alternatively, we're a pleasant 20 minute walk from Chichester Train station, and the number 60 Stagecoach bus stops nearby.

CFT is linked to the city’s cycle lane network and our new bike park accommodates 26 bicycles, located adjacent to the Pimlott Building, just off the Theatre’s access road, off Broyle Road.

See Getting Here for more info on transport links.
