Insight Workshops

We offer bespoke workshops for Post 16 students linked to current productions. Sessions can be tailored to study needs or a specific production focus and are designed to offer students a deeper understanding of the production they attend.

Partnership Projects

Work with us to offer students a unique programme of learning, designed to enhance their knowledge of productions, develop theatre-making techniques or build key transferable skills.

Speak Your Mind

Develop creative writing and performance techniques amongst students through this digital spoken word project. Inspired by random/generations and working with creative facilitators and a performance poet, students will create short pieces to present digitally at the Theatre.  

Project application window opens in March 2018.  

Workshops will take place in April and May 2018.

Participants: KS4, KS5

Post 16 Technical Tasters

Led by Festival Theatre Technical teams, Technical Tasters offer learners insight into backstage theatre roles. Participants could find out how costumes or props are designed, how sets are realised or how to light a performance.  

Learners also have the opportunity to ask questions and experience technical or stage equipment during a 90-minute taster. Technical Tasters are available at selected times throughout the year.  

Five distinctive workshops are available: 

  • Costume
  • Lighting
  • Props
  • Sound
  • Stage Design

Technical Tasters.

Midnight Shadows

Alongside The Midnight Gang, young people aged 14-18 receive unrivalled insight into the professional production process by shadowing creative teams. The programme will develop knowledge and experience for those wishing to develop a career in technical theatre, production or the creative industries.  

Further details of this exciting opportunity will be released in June 2018.

An application window will open in July 2018, including an interview stage.
