Sponsorship Spotlight: Genesis Town Planning and Crave

Sarah Kane’s Crave, the opening production of the Autumn 2020 season, is kindly sponsored by Genesis Town Planning. The sponsorship marks the latest instance in a long relationship between the Theatre and the Chichester-based business, which has encompassed both professional planning and development advice as well as more traditional production sponsorship.

As Kris Mitra, Managing Director of Genesis Town Planning, explains:

‘Genesis Town Planning originally supported CFT’s Youth Theatre outreach work back in 2009. Since then, we have progressed to supporting productions mostly in the Minerva Theatre, from 2014’s Frankie & Johnny in the Claire de Lune and 2016’s Travels with My Aunt to 2017’s Caroline, Or Change, 2018’s Cock and 2019’s This Is My Family and Sing Yer Heart Out for the Lads.

‘We worked together with CFT to help bring the Theatre on the Fly to fruition in 2012, securing temporary planning permission for this structure, and subsequently the Spiegeltent: both developments enabled CFT to offer a diverse range of productions for a varied audience, both old and young.

‘CFT for us is the beating heart of Chichester; it connects people from all walks of life and brings them together as a community under one roof. That philosophy is important to us as a business because we are all about community and shaping life within it. Chichester without CFT would not be the same and therefore we will continue to offer our support in whatever capacity we can.’

Rosie Hiles, Corporate Development Manager at Chichester Festival Theatre, added: ‘Our long and valued relationship with Genesis Town Planning illustrates the mutually rewarding benefits that a successful corporate partnership can bring.

‘Our sponsors help us maintain our reputation for world-class productions and to offer adventurous and stimulating drama at accessible prices. We are delighted to partner once again with Genesis Town Planning on Crave and thank them for their sterling support.’
