Sharon D. Clarke wins Olivier Award for Caroline, Or Change

At the Laurence Olivier Awards 2019, held in London on 7 April, Sharon D. Clarke was named Best Actress in a Musical for her 'incomparable' performance in Caroline, Or Change. The production originated at the Minerva Theatre in Festival 2017, before transferring to Hampstead Theatre and then to the West End's Playhouse Theatre last year. At the Olivier Award ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall, Sharon sang the stunning 'Lot's Wife' solo from Tony Kushner and Jeanine Teasori's musical, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

This is Sharon's second Olivier Award, having previously won Best Supporting Actress for The Amen Corner at the National Theatre. We send her our warmest congratulations!
