We are looking for supernumeraries to take part in the Festival 2017 production of King Lear, directed by Jonathan Munby in the Minerva Theatre.
Supernumerary actors are usually amateur actors who appear in our productions in crowd scenes or small non-speaking parts. This is an exciting opportunity to work under professional direction with a professional company of actors that includes Ian McKellen.
We are looking for approximately 20 men aged between mid-20s and mid-40s. If you are interested you will need to attend an initial workshop/audition on Thursday 1 June (daytime) – please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to confirm a place.
The commitment will require you to attend a few rehearsals in the weeks commencing 11 September and 18 September, which may include daytime rehearsals (schedule to be confirmed), and all performances from 22 September – 28 October.
Performances are generally Monday to Saturday at 7.45pm, and 2.45pm on the following matinee days: Saturday 30 September, Saturday 3, Saturday 7, Saturday 14, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18, Saturday 21 and Saturday 28 October. Supernumeraries may be asked to arrive in advance of the performance to allow time to get into costume.
All rehearsals and performances will be at Chichester Festival Theatre. Scheduled performances may be subject to change or additional dates.
