Our year-round programme of Community events for adults includes a variety of weekly classes to help build confidence, gain new skills, discover more about the Theatre and productions as well as celebrate the joy of creative expression and socialising. As we near the end of term we are inviting everyone to come and enjoy our upcoming sharings from our Community groups. All our sharings are free to attend and there is no need to pre-book.
Game Changer is one of our 60th Anniversary Digital Stages events and will see our endlessly creative ‘Wednesday and Friday’ community companies combine gaming technology with theatrical storytelling and music to create a new virtual theatre experience. Using a highly accurate scan of our auditorium, they have worked alongside experts to hone their skills in building a new digital theatre. Friday Company have been working with Brighton-based digital immersive arts company BRiGHTBLACK to build a new video game, set in a 3D scan of the Festival Theatre auditorium. Wednesday Company have been working with Fryed Music to compose a soundtrack for the video game, which includes an original score and an array of sound effects to accompany the unique superpowers embedded into the game.
Come and join us for the Game Changer launch on Friday 8 July, 2 - 4pm, The Pavilion (opposite the Festival Theatre on Oaklands Park)
