Chichester Festival Theatre in lockdown

It seems a long time since Chichester Festival Theatre closed its doors in March. But our work didn’t stop; we’ve simply operated in a different way and a lot has happened since then.

This short film documents just some of what we’ve been up to over the past five months: from our lighting teams colouring Chichester Cathedral blue for the NHS to the Youth Theatre’s videos for care homes; from the archive productions streamed online to the brand new Five Day Plays.

There were webinars with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and on the legacy of Andrea Levy; Gina Beck and Julian Ovenden performed a song from South Pacific; and a Missing Live Theatre installation reminded us of how things should have been.

We hope you enjoy watching, and look forward to welcoming you back to the Theatre soon.
