£4,800 raised at Pop-Up Costume Sale

We're delighted to confirm that last week's incredibly popular Pop-Up Costume Sale raised over £4,800 for our Ageless work with the local community. Thank you to all those who generously donated.

With 120 people in the queue at 10am ready to burst through the doors, the event was busy and proved to be a brilliant occasion. Among those attending were those from community groups, vintage fans, theatre lovers and Goodwood Revival regulars.

Some of the memorable moments included a young boy who bought the paws of the polar bear from The Midnight Gang; an amazing sealed bid on Penelope Keith’s dress from The Chalk Garden; a musician who specialises in 18th century music buying some pieces to wear during concerts; and all the people who purchased cowboy and Goodwood Revival style outfits. All were delighted at owning a piece of Theatre history.

With most items being sold, the Pop-Up Costume Sale has been a tremendous success and continues CFT’s commitment to recycling and reducing waste

We'd like to thank both those who attended the event and placed bids online. We were amazed by the generosity of those who supported the sale and helped us raise a fantastic amount of money for a great cause. A special thank you also goes to all our volunteers, especially Denise Patterson who looked after the iconic pieces, the Wardrobe and Theatre Management teams that made the event possible, as well as caterers Caper & Berry for tea and coffee provisions.
