FAQs Concerts in the Park & Family Fun June 2021
When will the full line-up be announced?
We hope to have the full list of names confirmed very soon. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.
How does ticketing work for these events and how are you going to ensure social distancing for audience members?
In order to comply with social distancing guidelines, we have mapped out a plan of small, medium and large plots to allow audience members to book with varying group sizes.
Small plots (1x2m) are for up to 2 people, medium plots (2x2m) are for up to 4 people and large plots (2x3m) are for up to 6 people. These plots will allow enough space for those within your group to sit either on the ground or on your own picnic chairs. If you would like more space to spread out, you are welcome to buy a larger plot to use for fewer people. Please note the maximum number of people for each plot must be adhered to and all your belongings must be kept within the plot.
There will be 2 metre-wide walkways between each plot so that, even for those at the edge of the plot, you will still have sufficient distance between your group and the next household.
I have a corporate membership - will I be able to use tickets from my allocation for these concerts?
As these concerts are additional events, and not part of our Festival 21 season - we're very sorry but you will not be able to use your allocation for these tickets.
How will I know which entrance to use?
Once you have made your booking, your E-ticket will be emailed to you – this will contain your designated entrance gate.
Will you be collecting details for NHS Test And Trace?
I didn’t use up the maximum capacity of my plot on my original booking, can I add people later?
Yes, as long as you don’t exceed the maximum number for the plot you’ve booked you can add additional people later on. For example if you booked 4 people onto a plot for 6, you can add 2 at a later date. However – you and your party must all arrive together.
Can I book on the day?
We will not have a Box Office on site on the day. Tickets can be bought online (subject to availability) on the day, and we will be operating a paperless ticketing system. If you have any queries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01243 781312
Will I have a specific numbered plot reserved for me?
The plots will not be reserved; we will ensure there are enough plots of each size for everyone who has booked and you will be directed to the next available plot on arrival. Please ensure your full party arrive together.
Will there be seating or picnic rugs provided? Are we allowed to stand?
There will be no seating provided but you are welcome to bring your own picnic rug, or picnic chairs if you don’t wish to sit on the ground. We will have large screens either side of the stage to enhance the view. We do ask that you are considerate of your fellow audience members in your choice of seating and that you remain seated during the events unless you need to exit for any reason or to use the facilities. Sun loungers and shooting sticks are not permitted.
How long will the events be and will there be an interval?
Family Fun will last approximately one hour without an interval, and the evening Concert will be approximately 1 hour 30 minutes without an interval.
Can I arrive early?
The site will be open 1 hour before the beginning of the event – so from 12.30pm for the Family Fun event which starts at 1.30pm, and from 6pm for the 7pm evening Concerts, and 1pm for the 2pm Sunday Concert.
Is there an age limit for children?
The age guidance for the Family Fun session is 4+. It will be approximately one hour of readings, so parents should bear attention and concentration spans in mind. In order to maintain social distancing, we ask that parents ensure that their children remain within their plot at all times.
Why isn’t there priority booking for Friends?
Given the time-scale and wider circumstances of this event, we regret we aren’t able to offer priority booking on this occasion . Following the success of last year’s event we have programmed additional concerts to ensure that more people from the community and beyond will have the opportunity to attend.
Will food and drink be available? Can we bring our own?

You are welcome to bring your own picnic but barbecues are not permitted. Please be considerate of other groups around you and please remember to take all litter with you when you leave.
Will toilet facilities be available?
The Festival Theatre toilet facilities will be open and regularly cleaned by our on-site team. We will have a queueing system in place to conform to social distancing.
Will staff be on hand to manage the event and will they be wearing PPE?
Yes, CFT staff will be on hand throughout and kitted up according to the prevailing government guidelines.
Is smoking and vaping allowed?
If you would like to smoke or vape, we ask that you do not do so within your plot, and go somewhere outside of the concert area.
Photography and filming by CFT
These events will be filmed and photographed for CFT’s archive, publicity or marketing purposes. Images and film may also be shared with and used by organisations to report on activity they have supported (for example funders or sponsors), or by organisations that promote Chichester Festival Theatre as a world-class attraction. By purchasing tickets to these events, you are giving your consent to being filmed and photographed. If you do not wish to appear in any images or film, please speak to a member of staff.
What happens if it rains? Can I get a refund?
We'll go ahead in most weather, including rainfall, and will never cancel a show before the advertised start time - it's amazing how often it can rain all day and then clear up just in time for the action to start! In the unlikely event that we have to cancel, your tickets will be refunded.
Can I bring a dog?
Not unless they are a registered assistance dog; please bring recognised documentation.
What is the Wheelchair access provision for these events?
Wheelchair spaces will be available in each plot size – and the plots will be situated as near to the entrances as possible to ensure minimal travel across the grass. (Please note there will still be an element of off road travel necessary to reach your plot). Your designated entrance will be clearly indicated on your e-ticket.
Will I be refunded if the event is cancelled due to a change in government guidelines?
In the event of a cancellation by us, we offer a 100% money back guarantee on tickets.
