Carnival of Lights will see a grand parade of lanterns created by local schools, groups and artists dancing through the streets of Chichester to the Canal Basin, culminating in a waterside extravaganza.

We invite you to join us 

Gather at Priory Park from 5pm to enjoy fun crafts and activities before we depart at 6pm. 

Led by samba band, Bateria Brasoc, we will parade with our sea of lanterns through the streets of Chichester to the Canal Basin where we will celebrate with performances, activities, food and more. Celebrate with us and join the party as you parade with your friends!

The walk is expected to take 30-40 minutes and is wheelchair accessible.


• Date: Friday 10 June

• Time: Meet at Priory Park from 5pm; Carnival will leave at 6pm

• Finish: Canal Basin; Celebration ends 8.30pm

• What to bring: Just yourself, your friends and family

• What to wear: Bright colours, comfy shoes and dress for the weather!

• Where to park: Turn overleaf for route map and recommended car parks

• Food & Drink: Street food will be available at the Canal

Inspired by the anniversaries of Chichester Festival Theatre and other leading cultural attractions, Culture Spark will bring together artists, musicians and community groups from across the district to create a season of events that showcases work by local creatives and gives everyone a chance to enjoy a rich summer of fun.
