SWEENEY TODD WINS EVENING STANDARD AWARD

Sweeney Todd won the Ned Sherrin Award For Best Musical at yesterday's ceremony.
Beating its fellow Festival 2011 production, Singin' in the Rain, also nominated in the same category, this is the second award for Sweeney Todd. Last month Imelda Staunton won Best Performance in a Musical for her portrayal of Mrs Lovett at this year's Theatre Awards.
