Park House Hotel - www.parkhousehotel.com
Park House was founded in 1948 by Ione O'Brien. Ione had inherited the home a year earlier from her father who had purchased the Victorian property for his family following their return from India. A lady of little excess, Ione knew that the main house with 10 bedrooms and one bathroom would be 'simply too large' for her small family; Mike her husband and Michael their son, hence she set about running her inheritance as a hotel. Ione's unique character, great will and determination ensured the success of her venture from the very first day it opened on May 1st, 1948.

It was completely remodelled by the theatre architect C.J.Phipps in 1884, so that the present building dates back to the great days of Victorian theatre.
