Patrick Stewart plays Malvolio in this most romantic and musical of plays directed by Philip Franks, co-director of Chichester's highly acclaimed production of Nicholas Nickleby.
 
Patrick Stewart has most recently played Marc Antony and Prospero for the Royal Shakespeare Company, in both Stratford and London, having previously won an Olivier Award for his performance as Enobarbus in Peter Brook's production of Antony and Cleopatra and a nomination for his Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. On television, Stewart originated the role of Jean-Luc Picard in the hit series Star Trek: The Next Generation which aired from 1987 to 1994. Other television credits include: Professor Ian Hood in Eleventh Hour, Captain Ahab in Moby Dick and King Henry II in The Lion in Winter. His extensive film credits include X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, Lady Jane and Excalibur as well as the Star Trek movies.
