Macbeth
25 May - 1 September
Minerva Theatre
By William Shakespeare
Cast includes Patrick Stewart
Photography by Shaun Webb
An anatomy of the relationship between ambition and corruption, Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most bloody and fear-filled tragedies.
Rupert Goold, who recently directed Patrick Stewart in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s acclaimed production of The Tempest, now directs Stewart as Macbeth, the man who murders king and comrade in his quest for the crown, only to lose all.
Patrick Stewart leads a company of actors in Macbeth and Twelfth Night, giving audiences the opportunity to celebrate the actor’s craft as they perform two contrasting plays by Shakespeare in Chichester’s two distinctly different theatres.
