‘What can you say about a twenty-five year old girl who died? That she was beautiful and brilliant. That she loved Mozart and Bach. The Beatles. And me.’

Inspired by Erich Segal’s best-selling iconic novel, this is a brand new musical version of Love Story, also one of the most romantic films of all time.

Oliver Barrett IV went to Harvard and Jenny Cavilleri to Radcliffe. He was rich, she was poor. He was sporty, she played music. But they fell in love. This is their story.

Their romance is as poignant as it is enriching, as sweet as it is intense. Love Story will win your heart. And it might just break it.

Olivier nominated Emma Williams, who made her West End debut as Truly Scrumptious in the original cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, plays Jenny; Michael Xavier (Festival 09’s Oklahoma! and Spamalot) plays Oliver Barratt IV. They are joined by Peter Polycarpou (Les Misérables and the BBC’s Birds of a Feather) as Jenny’s father, Phil.

Rachel Kavanaugh is Artistic Director of Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Recent productions include Arthur and George and His Dark Materials. At Chichester Rachel directed The Music Man and A Small Family Business.

Howard Goodall is an EMMY, BRIT, Gramaphone and BAFTA-winning composer of choral music, stage musicals, film and TV scores (including Blackadder and The Vicar of Dibley). His musicals have won many international awards, including Ivor Novello and TMA Awards for Best Musical.

Stephen Clark’s credits include Martin Guerre (Olivier for Best Musical), The Mahabharata (Sadler’s Wells), La Traviata (ENO) and Zorro (Garrick Theatre and Folies Bergère, Paris).
