Scene It
A unique evening of drama, improvisation, comedy and music created through a collaboration of non-professional Sussex actors, musicians and writers with David Heley, Director, Theatre Maker and OU Lecturer.
Joe Griffiths made his name in the 1960s and 1970s by having his early work produced on the BBC’s Wednesday Play. After the Aberfan disaster in 1966 he was commissioned to write a play dealing with this devastating event. The play was given a broadcast slot in March 1967; a director was found and some actors signed up…but…the play was never finished. Griffiths died last year. He left a suitcase full of scraps…..scraps and fragments…ideas and words… for the play he could not write…Tonight we explore why.
