Overview
A workshop reading of a new musical in development.
Allington. 1914. Conditions in Jubilee Mill are reaching breaking point and union rep Arthur Faulkner defies his wife’s advice and helps co-ordinate a strike. But with union pay running thin, the men won’t be able to hold out forever. As war is declared, maybe crossing the picket line is not their only option.
Oliver Jackson was Musical Director for the acclaimed Adolf Hitler: My Part In His Downfall (Bristol Old Vic) and Assistant Musical Director for Festival 2011's She Loves Me.
Chris Storer's credits as Composer and Lyricist include Marriage (Edinburgh Festival).
Ben Ockrent's plays include Honey, (The Great Game Season, Tricycle Theatre and US national tour (nominated for an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre) and The Pleasure Principle (Tristan Bates Theatre).
