Overview

Our Playbox Workshops are practical and inspiring theatre workshops for children and young people, in the new Theatre on the Fly temporary theatre. Children have the opportunity to take to the stage and open up a box of theatrical magic. Led by experienced theatre professionals, groups will use the contents of a playbox to make stories, create new characters and put their ideas ‘up on their feet’.

We find that children settle into our drama activities very quickly. Our staff are experienced in working with children and young people, and building a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

This workshop is an introduction to improving and devising in a new and exciting theatre space. The focus will be on play and discovery, as opposed to performance. As such, there will not be a performance for parents and siblings at the end of the workshop.

This acting-packed workshop will involve a lot of moving around, so please ensure your child wears comfortable clothing and suitable shoes.  Please ensure your child brings any necessary medication with them on the day.
